I've seen a great idea about it somewhere: Make it possible to replace the Exp. bar with a title of your choice! Exp bar is completely useless for chars at 20, titles however are something almost everyone is going for, at least 1.
For the sake of simplicity of implementation, it can be the active title displayed. Adding more than one title bar to be displayed on screen would be a nice improvement though.

Already suggested, but.
How to do this:
1. Make al titles selectable, regardless if the can be show or not. If they are rank 0 or their rank is too low, they won' be show even if selected.
2. Move the currently selected title to the top of the list.
3. Make a new bar, that appears if a title is selected and disappears if not.
4. Make the bar Ctrl-ping-able.
Done! Easy as a pie!

Making the bars draggable and detachable like the menu icons isn't a new idea but I'm all for it. I'd sure like my faction bars up there too.

lol, i just wanted to create a topic to replace the experience bar with the selected title progression... you were faster
additionally when you ctrl+click on the bar, it could state something like:
"I'm a drukard and 23% on my way to Incorrigible Ale-Hound"

Its bad enough with morons spamming there entire weapon sets of Sundering swords... i'm sure we can do without them spamming there entire title bar.
I really don't see the point... hell in all honesty i don't see the point of the exp bar either, its not like you actively need to check your level progress.

Oh well what a great solution... not. Because people don't spam in local chat when your in towns... and people don't talk in Team Chat anyway through force of habit...
By your logic everyone should've just switched to Trade Chat for general conversation and left the Trade spam to Local... funnily enough it wouldn't of worked.
There is absolutely no need for allies to know your progress of a title bar, or which ones you've maxed. And your title bar doesn't really increase fast enough for you to need to know exactly how far up it you are at any given instant.
I'd rather Anet spent there time on something meaningful.... which isn't gonna happen either.

I agree that the spamming of the XP progress bar can be annoying.
Simple solution? It can't be Pinged.
I like the idea of titles being on one at a time on your character and you only see it at the feet of your or others character. It is not IN YOUR FACE when it comes wanting to display a title or seeing others titles.

No. The solution is easier.
If you are in explorables, you can do the change to local.
If you are in outposts. The idiot that spam pings get s kickec out.
If you are in arena, the idiot gets kicked after the match or you leav if he can't be kicked
Pins-spaming is a different issue that won't get fixed if you don't add more pingable things.
You can already spam with anything.

I think pinging the status of a title could be fun and might even be useful in some circumstances like exploring, but yes spammers will abuse it. Although nothing prevents such idiots announcing every skill they use in battle.
I won't cry, if this idea of mine doesn't get implemented, but the OP's idea of a visible title progress in the gui would be very beneficial.

I Like the idea - not necessary to keep the hero window open to track a title that way

/signed for having an option to add the progress bar of titles into your HuD
Additionally, a way to track progress for Survivor title would be pretty nifty.
Even a command, like '/survivor' so we can know how much xp we have gained since we last died to know if it is worth making the push for the title or not. (ie not go off and try some mission that may result in you dying)
Or even easier, add a paramater to the '/deaths' command to include how much xp has been earnt since last death.

You're required to hit the 'H' button on your keyboard. It's not even like they require you to spell out words you don't know or ask you to jump through hoops. You're complaining about hitting the 'H' button on your freakin' keyboard...
I've already hit the 'H' button on my keyboard 13 times so far in this post. I could count the number of times you hit the 'H' button on your keyboard during your last post if you like, but I think you get the point.
